Jim Heckman - Integrative Health Practitioner Level 1

Meet Jim Heckman

My health journey started the spring of 2019 when I was in California for a work trip/side vacation. I remember the moment so vividly when I knew something was physically wrong with me. I went for, what should have been, an easy mountain bike ride but I was struggling and sweating profusely. I was standing, looking out over the foggy scenery in the picture below, wondering why it was so hard for me to get up the relatively easy hill.

I went from the strongest I’d ever been on the bike to barely being able to walk to my mailbox. The fatigue was debilitating and brain fog so bad that I could barely form sentences. Sometimes all I could manage to do was just to stare at the wall.

The worst had to be the isolation that came with it. Because I couldn’t ride my bike, I lost my social circle and the ability to do what I love. I’d have a couple of months of feeling good only to be wiped out for months. I shied away from riding with people because I never knew which form of my body would show up.

Honestly, I was in a very dark place and in a deep depression for a long time. I became angry and biter at the world around me because I didn’t know what the rest of my life would look like. I’d always been so active, now I could barely get through the day.

So, I spent the next three and a half years seeing every “specialist” out there. None of them had a clue what was going on. Several thought they did but they were off base. I’ll never forget the doctors that told me that I may never know what’s wrong with me or told me that I was just getting older and I needed to accept that. I never understood that mindset and I never accepted it. I kept digging, asking questions and pushing back.

At the end of the day, “modern” medicine failed me. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great doctors out there. Unfortunately, they operate in a broken system. A system based on profit over actually helping people get healthy. Had I listened to those doctors, who knows how many medications I’d be on. There’s a pill for every ill. None of which address the root cause.

Thankfully, when I was at my lowest, I ran across a book by my now mentor. He shed light on why we get sick and how we can regain our health. I’m so grateful to him. After five years, I know exactly what caused me to get sick and, better yet, I know how to get healthy. I now want to help those suffering with chronic fatigue, thyroid issues and toxic mold poisoning, all of which I had. I look forward to speaking with you and helping bring you back to health.
